About The Owner

Carolyn Lumpkin, owner of The

Bra Lady Boutique, is dedicated to helping women lead fuller lives after breast surgery.

After selling Cameo Custom Fitted Bras for about eighteen months, Carolyn realized that  there was a great need to serve the many ladies who have undergone breast surgery.  In November 2000, she moved to a larger location at Nor Dan Shopping Center on Piney Forest Road and  she expanded her business to include mastectomy products, plus size bras,  swimwear, and pantie girdles, along with the Cameo Custom Fitted  Bras,.

Breast cancer is a disease that Carolyn knows a lot about.  Her Mom, Grandmother, and two aunts all had breast cancer. She remembered taking her Mom to the home health store for her mastectomy products. "Who wants to buy their mastectomy products next to potty chairs and hospital beds...And get fitted for products in a stock room. "  Wouldn't customers prefer to get fitted for their products in a private fitting room?

Carolyn just loves helping ladies, It is really her ministry to help ladies whether they have had cancer and need mastectomy products or just a good fitting bra for back support and appearance.

A correctly fitted bra can improve your health and make you feel better about yourself.

Whether you need a bra for medical reasons or just want to look and feel your best - you will find what you need at The Bra Lady Boutique!

Stephanie  has been  a member of our staff since 2008. Stephanie came to us with a background in accounting.  She's the person that handles the insurance filing for our ladies that have experienced breast surgery,  and reconciles all the insurance payments.  She also has the headache of payroll and taxes. Stephanie is very dependable in the area of numbers.  Her memory of recall is remarkable.  Stephanie has been married for 23 years and is a very proud mother of two sons.  When not counting numbers for The Bra Lady, you may find her counting cows on the farm with her spouse.

Janet found The Bra Lady by way of the home medical equipment/pharmacy business. There she served as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Certified Orthotist and a Certified Fitter Mastectomy. She is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics since 2005. Janet has been fitting post mastectomy ladies since the 1980s and enjoys helping someone restore their symmetrical profile back to them. With her background as an orthotist she loves being involved in the custom prostheses for post mastectomy ladies. Custom prostheses are lighter in weight. They are designed to fit tighter to the chest wall to keep from migrating in the bra. They also feel more like your natural breast. Janet has been married to Freddie for 43 years, has 2 children and 3 grand children and resides in Reidsville, North Carolina. In her spare time she enjoys her family, church and estate sales.

Farewell!!!

As many may have already heard, Janice Ward retired in August, 2019.  She hung up her measuring tape for the last time here at the boutique. After working for us for 14 years,  she will be truly be missed. She has been our prayer warrior on staff for a lot of years. Janice was always the first to say  “Let’s Pray”.  We wish her happiness in her future endeavors and many days       enjoyment with her family.                                   We hope she will join us each year when we have our Annual Breast Cancer Awareness and Other Events, so she can keep in touch with her customers that she dearly loved helping.
